The Adjunct Research Program Manager (CIBBR Program Manager) provides high-level administrative, financial, and operational support for the Center of Integrated Biomedical and Bioengineering Research (CIBBR) within the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture (COLSA). This position works directly with the Principal Investigator and the Center’s Leadership Team to manage the day-to-day operations of a multi-million-dollar, grant-funded research center. Responsibilities include budget development and oversight, communication and outreach, compliance monitoring, and coordination of program activities in alignment with NIH and UNH policies. This position supervises students and adjunct staff and ensures the effective execution of all program components.

Duties/Responsibilities

Fiscal Management (30%)

  • Serve as the administrative manager for a multi-million-dollar annual budget and cost share composed of several individual funds.

  • Develop and monitor budgets for new and existing projects and grant activities.

  • Prepare financial projections and periodic reports; manage payments, vendor relations, and revenue transfers.

  • Oversee complex financial processes such as cost share and budget revisions.

  • Coordinate with UNH Procurement for equipment purchasing and vendor contracting.

Strategic Communication and Reporting (25%)

  • Manage internal and external communications for the Center.

  • Liaise with CIBBR Leadership Team, affiliated faculty, the Advisory Committee, external mentors, and evaluators.

  • Coordinate communications with UNH departments, external stakeholders, the NIH, and the public.

  • Design and implement surveys; analyze and compile data for progress reports to sponsors and stakeholders.

  • Maintain and update the Center website and manage its social media presence.

Operations Management and Supervision (25%)

  • Oversee implementation of activities funded by the NIH grant.

  • Serve as the administrative liaison with UNH units including Sponsored Programs, faculty, and administrators.

  • Ensure policy and compliance alignment with UNH and sponsor guidelines.

  • Supervise daily operations, including oversight of staff and student employees.

Meeting and Event Coordination (15%)

  • Organize and manage logistics for monthly meetings, external speaker events, workshops, and conferences.

  • Ensure effective scheduling, communication, and follow-up with participants and partners.

Other Duties (5%)

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of Center operations.

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, program management, biomedical sciences, bioengineering, or related field.

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible related experience in administration or program management.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting and budget management; experience with computerized financial record-keeping systems.

  • Demonstrated expertise managing grant-funded programs.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and experience with database and website software applications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with faculty, administrators, external partners, and the public.

  • Proven supervisory experience.

  • High attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities in complex project environments.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic academic and research setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business administration, program administration, biomedical sciences, bioengineering, or a related discipline.

  • Administrative experience in a university, research center, or similar institutional setting.
