The School of Science and Engineering at Saint Louis University (SLU) seeks a dynamic, collegial, collaborative, and creative adjunct faculty member for Spring 2023 to teach a undergraduate required shop course – Prototyping. Applicants should have the technical expertise and be motivated to deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences to undergraduate engineering students in a team-oriented, student-focused environment. This unique opportunity provides a platform for tomorrow’s engineers to learn from the industry’s top talent while broadly fostering industry-university relationships. Interested applicants should possess technical proficiency and practical experience in the disciplinary areas they intend to teach.
Prototyping Course Topics:
This course exposes students to the shop environment and the use of common hand and machine tools found in a typical fabrication shop in a safe manner. Emphasis is on using the right processes and right tools for the job. Safety in a fabrication shop is introduced and practiced.
