The Opportunity

Adobe is seeking a Web Services Software Engineer to build the next generation web application for Adobe Analytics, Adobe's industry-leading analytics platform. The Adobe Analytics platform processes 20+ billion transactions daily and delivers reporting data to customers via a sophisticated data visualization interface. We participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including the architecture, design, development, & maintenance of the product. This position is based in our Bucharest office within the Digital Marketing Business Unit of Adobe.

What you'll do

• Design and implement robust web service APIs within our data retrieval platform that are used by a variety of client applications

• Gather technical requirements from multiple sources and improve on existing strategy and techniques for visualizing and displaying data

• Seek complex business and technical problems involving large-scale data aggregation

What you need to succeed

• Software development experience with RESTful web services

• Proficiency in a JVM language (Java, Scala, etc.)

• Database programming knowledge including SQL queries and MySQL or Mongo

• GraphQL, ETL knowledge – will be considered a plus

• Foundational understanding of the software creation process and standard methodologies

• Affinity for big-data and real-time processing technologies

• Real passion for learning, developing, and getting things to work

• Fearlessness and curiosity when staring into the abyss of a repo you’ve never seen

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• 5+ years in software development

• BS or equivalent degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
