Job Duties
The Department of Motor Vehicles is looking for a Deputy Director Property & Asset Management for a position with its Facilities Services & Planning administration.
This leadership position provides oversight, direction, and coordination for directing the implementation, administration, and evaluation of the DMV's leases. It provides oversight, direction, and coordination for the assignment of service requests, coordinate, and track work in all leased and owned locations and provide follow up, negotiate easements, conduct real estate market surveys, develop a wide variety of legal documents, and prepare and process various lease documents. They will be responsible for direct supervision of Asset Coordinator, Fleet Coordinator, and the Property and Facilities Coordinator.
The incumbent in this position will require advanced knowledge of principles and practices of real estate acquisition, disposition, and maintenance, advanced knowledge of real estate business practices and contracts and of the laws, rules, regulations; knowledge/experience of procedures applicable to Virginia State government procurement would be a plus.

Minimum Qualifications
•Knowledge/experience in managing leases, conducting negotiations, and managing facility issues on a large scale.
•Experience negotiating easements.
•Working knowledge of PCs, Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Teams), and database systems and management.
•Experience with independently performing complex administrative tasks.
•Experience creating and documenting office practices, processes, and procedures.
•Considerable knowledge/experience with communicating and customer service, to include
written and oral abilities including preparing presentations and presenting results and
recommendations to senior management.
•Knowledge of statistical analysis, data collection techniques, records-keeping, organized,
and program evaluation.
•Experience developing and implementing procedures, providing guidance and
recommendations.
This position requires occasional travel, sometimes overnight.
Additional Considerations
•Experience purchasing goods and services following state procurement rules.
•Experience with managing a fleet vehicle program to include maintenance, purchasing, and rent vs buy recommendations.
