About the role

Overview

FedWriters is building a team to provide comprehensive program support to the National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) across key areas including program planning, review management, and oversight activities. This role provides essential data analysis and scientific writing support to advance NSF's research initiatives in computer systems, networking, cybersecurity, and cyber-physical systems.

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

 

 

Work Schedule and Location:

On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm at NSF Headquarters in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct comprehensive data retrieval and analysis for program directors
  • Develop scientific writing and presentation materials for panels and site visits
  • Support preparation and review of program solicitations
  • Assist with proposal panel coordination and reviewer recruitment
  • Analyze program portfolios and funded projects
  • Support PI meetings and workshop organization
  • Monitor project reports and program outcomes
  • Coordinate working group activities and interagency partnerships
  • Develop program highlight briefings and presentations
  • Track and analyze diversity metrics in program portfolios

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
  • Experience managing research projects and teams
  • Demonstrated experience in research and program management
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Project management experience with complex projects and budgets
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
  • Experience with collaboration tools including SharePoint, Teams, Box, and Slack
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to automate and innovate processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in a CISE-supported field
  • Experience in federal grant management
  • Knowledge of NSF programs and processes
  • Publication and technical writing experience
  • Experience with data visualization and analysis tools
  • Background in computer systems, networking, or cybersecurity
