Job Description
The Energy Technology Strategy intern will join the corporate Technology Strategy team whose mission is to evaluate technologies associated with the energy transition, electrification, and/or decarbonization, to develop strategic investment and program recommendations based on these assessments, and to communicate these recommendations to a broad group of internal stakeholders including the company's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and other senior leaders. This is a global team with deep expertise in technology and marketing that is used to lead these assessments.
What You'll Do:
As part of this role, the Energy Technology Strategy intern will be an active contributor in the development of strategy for a defined technology and will be responsible for part of the assessment. It is expected that the intern will use their academic knowledge and problem-solving skills to complete assigned project(s), deliver positive outcomes, and contribute to the success of our team.
This could involve primary source research (using data from external parties) as well as developing models to assess technology and/or economic viability.
Technology assessments require cross-functional teams and involvement of subject matter experts. As such, the corporate Technology Strategy team engages with experts across GE Vernova. The intern will have an opportunity to work with a broad team consisting of technology experts and staff members knowledgeable in commercial, economic, and market assessments.
The Energy Technology Strategy team delivers written memos that provide a detailed record of our recommendations and the supporting information. As part of this role, the Technology Strategy Intern will document their results in an independent report or as part of a larger technology assessment memo. You will also be expected to present the progress of your assignment(s) on a regular basis to the team and prepare a final presentation of your results.
What You'll Bring (Basic Qualifications):
Working towards a Bachelors or Masters Degree in a technical field of study in Mechanical, Systems or Chemical Engineering.
Minimum 4.0 GPA (without rounding) on a 5.0 scale
Enrolled in a full time matriculated and nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program.
Completed at least two full years of college.
Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $36.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed.
