The Director, People Strategy - AI Acceleration leads the strategic development and integration of AI-native business systems to modernize the Global People portfolio and drive enterprise-wide digital fluency. Acting as a critical bridge between Enterprise AI and functional execution, this role ensures all functional AI initiatives remain strictly aligned with the People AI Office’s strategic roadmap, governance protocols, and prioritization standards to drive cohesive enterprise-wide execution. The Director fosters a culture of "applied learning" and continuous improvement, leveraging data-driven insights to measure capability growth and correlate AI adoption with measurable productivity gains.About the team:
The People AI Office leads AI-driven transformation across global people workflows by establishing strategy, governance, and prioritization standards to scale AI solutions effectively. The team advances operational excellence through applied learning and AI deployment, converting pilots into production tools. By aligning innovation with enterprise standards, the office ensures AI integration supports efficient, high-performing, and connected associate experiences, positioning Walmart as a leader in AI-enabled people functions and processes.
What you'll do...
- Execute the integration of AI-native business systems across the Global People portfolio by identifying automation gaps and ensuring all functional initiatives adhere to established strategy, governance, and prioritization standards.
- Lead the full lifecycle of AI solution development—from defining functional requirements for "agent-led" workflows to scaling high-impact pilots into production-ready tools.
- Accelerate enterprise-wide AI adoption by deploying applied, task-based learning pathways that validate real-world proficiency and build lasting skills across the workforce.
- Utilize pre- and post-assessment analytics to track capability growth and correlate AI adoption with measurable productivity gains across functional teams.
What you'll bring:
- Experience in technical product management or solution design, specifically in translating business "toil" into scalable AI agents and automated process improvements.
- Strong organizational leadership with the ability to drive strategic prioritization and execute business plans effectively.
- Experience in change management strategy and technology integration to enhance system development and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills to influence stakeholders, present updates, and foster collaboration across teams.
- Ability to analyze business objectives, measure outcomes, and identify improvement opportunities aligned with company goals.
