Overview:
CleanSlate is a national medical group providing treatment for the chronic disease of addiction. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people suffering from opioid and alcohol addictions. To support this mission, the Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing and reviewing timely and accurate financial records for the company. The Senior Accountant will be an individual contributor, as well as provide leadership and some oversight and guidance for others on the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- +5 years of relevant and progressive professional experience in accounting. Healthcare experience is preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills. Experience with Sage Intacct is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, with a practical ability to apply standards in day-to-day accounting practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Dedicated to maintaining a high degree of integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- CPA certification preferred
Performance Responsibilities:
- Ability to lead and coordinate external audits or reviews.
- Communicate effectively with external parties, responding to inquiries and providing necessary documentation.
- Assist the accounting manager or controller in preparing documents and interpreting complex financial information for upper management or external sources.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, financial statements, and budget variance analysis.
- Record journal entries accurately and ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions as required or assigned.
- Assist in the preparation and review of accounting reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Monitor and resolve reconciliation issues, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to relevant standards and company policies.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly to maintain financial data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with relevant company policies, accounting standards, and tax regulations related to depreciation.
- Collaborate with other departments or property managers to ensure accurate lease data and accuracy of payments with lease agreements.
