Public Relations Account Supervisor – Technology PR (NYC)
LOCATION: The Public Relations Account Supervisor- Technology is part of our FINN Partners NY, NY Office’s Technology Public Relations team. This AS role can be based either within our NYC Office or our Boston office. This is the ad for the New York Office and there is a strong preference for qualified NYC current residents as applicants. This is a hybrid role -working 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely each week- and is a full time, direct hire position.

The AS is an essential contact for clients, who ensures that our team develops and executes high-quality strategic PR campaigns and client media relations that exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple concurrent public relations client account teams and programs
- Participate in the development and execution of creative, strategic client public relations programs and campaigns, including budget and KPI tracking.
- Develop new public relations business pitches
- Implement core PR campaigns - planning, media strategy/pitching, event management, social media, industry analyst relations, content writing/editing, research, and account administration
- Provide strategic public relations counsel to clients including crisis communication.
- Execute strong media relations activity while motivating and mentoring junior staff on larger storytelling techniques, expert positioning and reactive media relations. Ensure the department is securing national, trade, and local media placements by actively researching and pitching compelling story angles.
- Draft and/or edit content written by PR jr. staff members such as client-ready documents, strategies and other communication including pitches, articles, blog entries, bios, press materials, and meeting reports
- Oversee weekly, biweekly, and monthly verbal and written client reporting.
- Provide day-to-day counsel and leadership of technology public relations junior staff who work in our NY and Boston offices.
- Manage weekly and monthly metrics and reporting.
- Manage and professionally develop our public relations technology practice's junior staff members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or public relations.
- 4-6 years of prior PR agency experience working with B2B or B2C technology clients
- Utilizes enthusiastic big-picture thinking; course-corrects and pivots when needed in order to achieve effective and decisive action.
- Experience working with traditional and social media strategies and campaigns
- Strong project management skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects
- Possesses strong media relations strategy and storytelling skills
- Crafts compelling messages that drive business goals and elevate client programs; is a refined communicator.
- Generates grammatically sound, client-ready communication as a skilled writer and editor.
- Has some prior experience supervising and driving high-level thinking among junior public relations staff to ensure a full pipeline of top-tier, trend and feature stories
- Displays compassionate and inspiring mentorship skills; counsels junior level staff in a positive and motivational manner.
- Advises and drives results that effectively meet internal and external needs, and exceeds client expectations.
- Strong communications skills, both oral and written (including editing skills)
- Experience using all Microsoft Office products
- Detail-oriented, deadline-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced, growing environment.

Salary range is $70k - $100k. The salary offered will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience and dependent upon the workplace.
