 Are you a strong swimmer and enjoy working outside? Do you enjoy being responsible and being able to provide supervision and safety of all in a community pool environment? If so, the YMCA of Central Massachusetts, is looking for you to join our amazing Aquatics Team who supervises the Community pool located in Southbridge MA!

The Community Pool is open for 8 weeks--Hours are Monday through Friday 9:00am-6:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 11:00am-5:00pm (subject to change with extra programming). A regular predictable schedule will be provided--This is a Temporary Summer Seasonal Full-Time position.

Lifeguards will be expected to lead and take part in weekly trainings and in-services specific to the facility.

This position's responsibilities will be part of the opening and closing of the facility (depending on shift). These duties are to include but not limited to, raising and lowering flags, unlocking, and locking of bathrooms and supply closets, Keeping bathhouse neat and tidy, setting up/breaking down of guard stations and checking emergency equipment on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

• Be at least 17 years old.
• Pass a swim test (swim 500 yards in 12 minutes).
• Must be able to demonstrate rescues and job drills.
• Must be able to complete a 1-mile untimed run.
• Possess CPR, 1st Aid, and Lifeguard Certifications

Job Type: Summer Seasonal

Pay: $18.50/hour, Access to facilities to all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Leave.
