About the role

Overview

The Director, Service Line Development provides operational leadership for Central Health’s clinical service lineportfolio, including existing, new, and expanded clinical programs. This position translates approved service linestrategies into executable operating plans, implementation workplans, launch readiness plans, performancemeasures, and sustainable operating models.The Director partners with executive, clinical, financial, and operational leaders to evaluate growth opportunities,develop business cases, assess operational and financial feasibility, and ensure new or expanded services areimplemented effectively. This role leads cross-functional execution, monitors risks, dependencies, milestones,access, quality, productivity, patient experience, and financial performance, and supports post-launch stabilizationand continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Essential FunctionsService Line Growth and Development:Leads service line development efforts for specialty and clinical services by identifying growth opportunities,assessing market demand, evaluating access gaps, reviewing organizational readiness, and converting approvedpriorities into operationally actionable initiatives aligned with community needs and organizational goals.Business Planning and Financial Feasibility:Develops business plans, budgets, pro formas, and investment recommendations for new and expanded services.Evaluates operational feasibility, implementation requirements, staffing models, reimbursement considerations,capital needs, and long-term financial sustainability.Implementation, Launch Readiness, and Operational Handoff:Directs the full lifecycle of service implementation, including planning, governance, approvals, launch readiness,task execution, milestone tracking, and operational handoff. Develops and maintains implementation workplans,coordinates action items across clinical leadership and support functions, and ensures initiatives are executed ontime, within scope, and with clear operational ownership.Capacity, Staffing, Space, and Workflow Planning:Leads execution planning for the clinical services portfolio by assessing organizational capacity and developingrecommendations related to staffing, space, equipment, scheduling, access, workflows, and operational sequencingto support sustainable service growth.Operational Execution and Cross-Functional Alignment:Serves as the operational leader for complex, high-priority specialty and clinical initiatives. Converts strategicdecisions into actionable tasks, timelines, owners, and deliverables; facilitates regular status reviews; removesbarriers; escalates enterprise risks; aligns stakeholder decisions; and ensures cross-functional teams meet keymilestones required for successful implementation and operational continuity.Performance Management and Continuous Improvement:Oversees post-launch stabilization and ongoing performance across assigned services. Maintains routine reportingon operational, financial, access, quality, patient experience, productivity, and milestone indicators; identifiestrends, gaps, and variances; follows up on corrective actions; and directs operational changes to improveperformance, accountability, and scalability.Team Leadership and Execution Accountability:Provides leadership to managers, program leaders, and cross-functional teams supporting specialty and clinicalservices. Establishes clear accountability for deliverables, develops leadership capability, supports performancemanagement, and represents the function in senior-level operational planning, execution, and decision-makingforums.Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management:Ensures service development and operational activities comply with applicable regulatory, accreditation, privacy,contracting, and organizational requirements. Partners with clinical, quality, and compliance leaders to identifyrisk, strengthen governance, and implement mitigation strategies.Provider, Referral, Vendor, and Partnership Operations:Develops effective relationships with physicians, referral partners, vendors, and community stakeholders tosupport access growth, program design, implementation success, and service line reputation. Partners withcontracting, procurement, and revenue cycle stakeholders to support vendor selection, contract readiness,reimbursement considerations, charge capture implications, and operational sustainability for new and expandedservices.Operational Reporting, Change Execution, and Standard Work:Synthesizes complex operational and financial information into concise status updates, dashboards, decision briefs,and recommendations for executive leadership.
