About the role
Description
University Physicians' Association is seeking qualified applicants for an Abstractor / Patient Service Representative (PSR) for UNIVERSITY PULMONARY & CRITICAL CARE, a specialty office located within the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.
Job duties include:
- Enter abstracted data- important diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment data from medical records into electronic health record
- Prepare medical charts
- Scanning health records into EMR
- Works well with provider and staff
- Greet patients in friendly and timely manner
- Answer phones in a timely manner
- Refers patient inquiries regarding medical care or treatment to medical assistant or physician
- Schedules patients with appropriate physician
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
- Clinical background experience with medical terminology and ICD-10
- 6 months to 1-year previous medical office experience
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, time management, and organization are critical to the overall success of the candidate.
