What you Will Do:
Within our Operations business area, the Quality function partners closely with Process Development, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to ensure the safety and efficacy of our medicines before they are used in clinical trials or the commercial market. This department supports the testing of products and monitors our manufacturing environments to ensure patient safety and the timely release of our medicines globally.
This position requires onsite presence Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, with occasional weekend and holiday work on a pre-defined rotation.
As an Apprentice QC Lab Technician, you may carry out duties such as:
- Performing aseptic sampling for environmental monitoring.
- Preparing solutions and standards with appropriate documentation.
- Assisting in QC archiving, logbook management, and records retention.
Minimum Requirements
- 0 years of related work experience required
- Must have earned a high school diploma or equivalency diploma by start date
- Must be willing to take 30-min, multiple-choice, online assessment
- The ability to stand for prolonged periods of time as this is an "on the floor" role which requires cleanroom gowning and the ability to physically lift as much 50 pounds
- Must be able to commute daily to the AstraZeneca Gaithersburg campus and travel between building as necessary
Preferred Requirements
- Proficiency in English
- High school science (Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences)

- Proof of completion from an accredited high school (diploma/GED),
- May consider proof of enrollment (written documentation from the school administrator) if you will graduate by the start date.
As this is a nationally registered apprenticeship, you will receive a Department of Labor Voluntary Disability Disclosure Form after you submit your application.
All applicants are required to complete a 30-minute, multiple-choice online assessment designed to measure job-relevant skills. You will receive the assessment within 2 weeks of applying, and you will have 5 days to complete it. If selected, our virtual panel interviews are tentatively scheduled during the week of October 21, 2024.
