POSITION PURPOSE

This key staff position is responsible for recruiting, application processing and review of applications to graduate business programs. The Assistant Director works directly with the online programs provider on application processing, interviews candidates. For programs solely managed by the Leavey School, the Assistant Director works to identify prospects, encourage prospects to apply, offers support and service through the application process and may interview candidates.  The Assistant Director provides recommendations to the Admissions Committee and is responsible for meeting all enrollment targets. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Meet and help to establish targets for assigned graduate programs

  • Work with Programs Director, Faculty Director and Sr. Assistant Dean, Leavey School of Business to set program goals.

  • Adjust policy changes and implement new procedures when needed

  • Maintain close communication with the online program management provider on admissions needs.

  • Issue weekly and monthly admissions reports.

  • Represent programs at Regional and National Conferences.

Recruit students to graduate business programs

  • Work to improve identification of prospect pool. Not limited to but including graduate school fairs, career fairs. Individually advise prospective graduate business students on program selection, fit, and admissibility.

  • Be a strong advocate for the identification and approval of key programs, events, and collateral important to successful recruitment.

  • Recommend recruitment activities based on most effective use of funds.

  • Execute recruitment plan.

  • Develop and manage prospect relationship in order to insure that program features and benefits are customized by prospect.

  • Represent SCU graduate programs at college, corporate, and other recruiting venues. This includes, but is not limited to tours, class visits, speaker series, webinars, and networking receptions.

  • Consistently offer the value of SCU and how it can meet the needs of the prospect/applicant and admit.

  •  Issue weekly and monthly reports regarding recruitment activities -- includes supporting established database of applicants.

Admissions Processing 

  • Work to provide timely admissions processing and coordinating interviews for students with completed applications

  • Work with program directors on smooth transition of students from admissions to academic support including participation in orientation.

  • Trouble shoot as needed with the online programs management provider.

  • May interview prospective students.

Other duties as assigned.

  • Recommends initiatives and implements changes to improve quality and services. 

  • Identifies and determines cause of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices. 

  • Maintains contact with customers and solicits feedback for improved services. 

  • Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate tools; planned training and performance initiatives. 

  • Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.  

  • Prepares progress reports; informs supervisor of project status; and deviation from goals. Ensures completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all operational functions. 

  • Prepares and submits reports as requested and required. 

  • Develops and implements guidelines to support the functions of the unit.
