About the role

About this Role:

 

The Quality Assurance Inspection Technician is responsible for reviewing products and materials received from suppliers to ensure they meet company requirements. The Quality Assurance Inspection Technician reports directly to the Manager of Quality Assurance and will interact directly with Operations, Quality, Electrical Design Engineering, Test & Manufacturing Engineers, Supply Chain and Finance in order to qualify and accept or reject products and materials.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Verifies the quality of all incoming and outgoing material and products
  • Read drawings, electrical schematics, instructions and procedures to understand the quality expectations for the material or product being evaluated
  • Measure objects using various electronic and mechanical tools and gauges, comparing them to the drawings and specifications.
  • Run quality tests and identify defects.
  • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
  • Select samples and checks them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications, etc.)
  • Use measuring tools such as calipers, CMMs and Gages to ensure correct dimensions of materials and products under qualification
  • Maintain records of testing and inspections.  Keeps records, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day, etc.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the Quality Manager

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years incoming quality assurance/inspection experience in the manufacturing industry

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated individual that continually seeks growth
  • Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards a plus
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvements a plus
