About the role

<p>We are growing fast and continuously evolving, creating new financial products while strengthening our compliance frameworks. We are looking for a Chief Risk Officer who will lead, coordinate and develop the risk management capability of Viva Payments. He/she will hold responsibility for determining Viva Payments’ exposure to operational risks, while coordinating actions to minimize these exposures. He/she will identify potential threats to the financial stability of Viva Payments and lead Risk Unit’s quantification management, with emphasis on Acquiring risk.</p><p><br/><strong>More specifically, the CRO will:<br/><br/></strong></p><ul> <li>Perform duties and powers, prescribed by the BoD, including overseeing risk management functions, and monitoring the ongoing efficiency of the Risk Management Division.</li> <li>Assess major risk exposures and recommends specific actions to Senior Management to control these exposures, using available risk metric software and personal knowledge of the industry.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with CISO &amp; CIO for the mitigation of ICT &amp; Security risks, including cybersecurity risk.</li> <li>Manage and prepare all documentation related to risk assessments &amp; internal controls of operating procedures. Submit the Risk Management Policy, the RCSA, the Risk Appetite Framework &amp; the Annual Risk Report to the Risk Committee/BoD for approval.</li> <li>Lead the interaction with Supervisory Authorities and external reviewers for issues related to risk management.</li> <li>Oversee compliance with the business unit’s limits and powers in risk management and the evaluation of its performance.</li> <li>Participate in the Risk Committee, escalate risk issues &amp; threshold limit breaches to the Committee as needed and recommends remedial actions to restore exposure. Hold the right to veto decisions with significant risk identified (e.g., a credit or investment decision or the setting of a limit).</li> <li>Hold responsibility for the risk assessment/quantification approaches.</li> <li>Participate in the decision-making process of material risks or risks associated to non-predefined processes.</li> <li>Develop insurance strategies and financing techniques to appropriately deal with any unanticipated losses.</li> <li>Participate to the regular capital &amp; liquidity risk assessment driven by the regulatory frameworks (e.g., ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plans, Stress Tests etc.) to be submitted to the Bank of Greece. Run any other ad-hoc study related with the risk quantification (asked by internal or external stakeholders).</li> <li>Define models for the quantification of risks and the evaluation of risk metrics to support risk appetite discussions in Executive Committee, Risk Committee and Board of Directors meetings.</li> <li>Conduct risk assessment of the inherent risks related to credit card acceptance/acquiring, Fraud &amp; Credit risk.</li> <li>Focus on Acquiring activities risks modelling, to capture potential losses per geographic area, industry sectors or other factors and drive acquiring risk appetite discussions.</li> <li>Quantify the chargeback risk exposure &amp; potential reserve requirements.</li> <li>Manage distribution and continued development of dashboards and data outputs to better inform the organization on risk trends, especially regarding acquiring risks.</li> <li>Document the assumptions for the quantification of risks and recalibrates the relevant models when necessary.</li> <li>Monitor regulatory requirements regarding risk assessment and reporting.</li> <li>Analyze data for the application of risk assessment methodologies, like expected losses and economic capital &amp; defines the recording of data by lines of business, to ensure that the necessary information is captured appropriately data.</li> <li>Collaborate with the Business Intelligence unit for the aggregation of data and the reporting of risk metrics.</li> </ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>To be considered you should have:<br/></strong><br/></p><ul> <li>10+ years of experience in a similar role in a large company/payments institution.</li> <li>Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics/ Banking, Computer Science or relevant field.</li> <li>Working experience in or with information technology or cybersecurity teams and executive teams.</li> <li>Understanding of the regulatory frameworks for Financial/Payment Institutions.</li> <li>Expert level of organization, communication, and leadership skills.<br/> <br/> </li> </ul><p><strong>Required proficiencies: </strong></p><ul> <li>Cybercrime and recent fraud schemes related with the payments industry.</li> <li>Anti-fraud and disputes investigations.  </li> <li>Data analysis.</li> <li>Excellent stakeholders management Skills.<br/> </li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p><strong>We offer:</strong></p><ul> <li>A competitive salary (based upon your skills and experience).</li> <li>Annual bonus based on targ
