The Hospice Sales Leader is responsible for developing, leading, and managing the sales strategy to drive patient census growth and market share for a hospice organization. This role oversees a team of care navigators/community liaisons and builds relationships with healthcare providers, referral sources, and community partners. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in healthcare sales, team leadership, and business development, with a deep understanding of hospice philosophy and regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, coach, and manage a high-performing sales team.
- Set and monitor individual and team sales goals, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Conduct regular team meetings, field rides, and performance evaluations.
- Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing plan aligned with organizational goals.
- Identify growth opportunities within the territory and implement strategies to capitalize on them.
- Track and analyze referral trends, market data, and competitive intelligence.
- Referral Development
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with physicians, hospitals, SNFs, ALFs, case managers, and other referral sources.
- Promote hospice services through educational outreach, presentations, and networking events.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure timely admissions and exceptional customer experience.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all marketing and sales practices comply with Medicare regulations and corporate policies.
- Maintain accurate CRM records of contacts, leads, and referral activity.
- Report on sales activity, pipeline status, and conversion rates to leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of healthcare sales experience, with at least 1–2 years in hospice or home health.
- Proven experience leading sales teams to exceed goals.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare hospice benefit and healthcare referral dynamics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to travel
- Must be located in Georgia or South Carolina
