Your Impact:
The Senior Marketing Manager will report into the Marketing Director and will be a part of the Hearst Autos Marketing team. This candidate must understand automotive advertising, marketing, experiential marketing , and what makes clients say: “Yes! I will invest in that idea!” The Senior Marketing Manager is a digital native and can easily create cross-platform programs that include print, native, video, social, and experiential. The ideal candidate has a solid history of exceeding client expectations with a strong understanding of their business needs and can navigate the inner workings of ad and experiential agencies to deliver thoughtful proposals. With a dual focus, a background in strategy development and custom events and experiences executions is needed and creative thinking and proposal writing experience is a must.
What You'll Do:
Develop innovative, revenue-generating, advertising-driven ideas that keep automotive clients (U.S. and Canadian) happy, engaged, and coming back for more. You will work with several internal and cross-functional teams to successfully propose new media and experiential programs across Hearst publishers and in-market publisher partner sites. And utilize insights and analytics to craft a compelling marketing story and ultimately ensure every idea meets our clients’ goals.
- Work in tandem with our sales team, understanding their needs to move their business forward
- Help create Hearst Autos marketing materials (one sheets, overview decks, etc.) to ensure we have a fresh, relevant, and consistent message
- Develop marketing opportunities for the automotive industry—RFP responses and proactive pitches—for Hearst Autos’ automotive media brands, Car and Driver, Road & Track and Autoweek, and publisher network, Hearst Autos In-Market.
- Collaborate with marketing teams across the Hearst Magazine portfolio including Esquire, ELLE, Delish, House Beautiful, Men’s Health and many more.
- Collaborate across internal Hearst teams (creative, strategy & insights, design, ad product, publisher, Hearst Made, and revenue operations)
- Stay on top of the industry and be closely aligned with automotive clients, understanding their unique challenges and strategies
- Lead conceptualization, planning, coordination, and execution of a variety of experiences (including but not limited to multi-day car rallies, industry events, track days, editorial testing days, virtual events, and more)
- Help manage all aspects of research, planning and executing experiential events (including but not limited to budgets, partnerships, vendor and venue selection, catering, entertainment, audio-visual requirements, logistics, timelines, and troubleshooting).
- Support Experiential Marketing executions, partnership development, stakeholder management, and budget management to integrate into a broader media offering.
Who You Are:
- BA/BS in Marketing or a communications-related field
- 8+ years in digital media or marketing experience
- Automotive marketing, agency, and events experience preferred, but not required
- Adept in Google and Microsoft Office product suites
- Proven track record of generating strategic solutions for business needs
- Understanding of media planning and client media approval process
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
- Experience in Adobe creative suite a plus
- Digital media fluency & ad solutions (behavioral targeting, native content and advertising, programmatic and data solutions)
- Understanding of digital metrics (comScore, DFP and the Google stack, social media, and IAB/MRC standards)
- Strong partner and vendor collaboration, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to present ideas and lead discussions with groups of all sizes
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization and ability to prioritize
- Must have flexibility to travel (15%) as required by event schedules and must hold a valid driver’s license and passport.
The base salary for this role is $110,000. The actual base pay offer
