Position Summary
Directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
Essential Functions
To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
- Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
- Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
- Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
- Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
- Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.
- Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work to ensure quality standards.
- Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance, and administering corrective action for staff.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
- Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education
Skills and Abilities
- Business Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; and interpret graphs.
- Moderate Computer Skills: Proficiency in email, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and presentations; ability to create and maintain documents supporting business objectives.
- Complex Communication: Ability to communicate complex information, interact with management, resolve sensitive
