About the opportunity
We have multiple exciting opportunities for Registered Nurses to work with us as a Clinical Educator in Nursing in the development, implementation and evaluation of the HIRAID® Aged Care framework for nurses in residential aged care homes (RACH). The aim of the framework is to standardise the assessment of residents in residential aged care.
We are seeking Registered Nurses with experience and expertise in aged care who are interested pursuing careers in education, healthcare research and improving standards of practice and clinical care. In this role, you will assist with the introduction of HIRAID® Aged Care through conducting education and training workshops and provide on-the-ground operational support, education and training, consulting with stakeholders and identifying and reporting issues that arise. You will work closely with our aged care partners, nursing and medical staff, as well as residents and their caregivers, to complete education, training and research-related activities such as assisting with survey completion, interviewing staff, residents and other key stakeholders, data collection, and documentation auditing.
This role will include periodically travelling between participating aged care homes across Sydney to ensure the framework has been implemented and used.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
present, advocate and report on the HIRAID® Aged Care framework and facilitate the integration of the framework into existing standards of practice within residential aged care homes
work with the research team and aged care partners to organize and conduct face-to-face workshops with aged care RNs, invigilating the sessions and answering queries
establish positive and long-term relationships with the aged care stakeholders, staff members and consumers to ensure the implementation and delivery of the framework
work closely with the research team to complete ad-hoc research activities, including assisting with the assessment of the implementation of the intervention, conducting surveys, collecting participant consent and other administrative duties
conduct data handling and data transfer between external and internal University systems
About you
undergraduate and postgraduate qualification in a relevant field
current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
expertise or experience in aged care
demonstrated experience in education and training
data handling and data transfer skills, including use of AutumnCare, ManAd, Clinical Manager, LeeCare, and/or other relevant systems
demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong collaborative interprofessional relationships
ability to work with various teams and stakeholders, including researchers, nurses, and senior staff
ability to travel between participating aged care homes and Westmead Hospital (reimbursement for travel using personal vehicles is available).
