Please note that this position is based in San Diego, CA. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work on average in our office three days per week.
Position Summary
This position will support Government Affairs and Patient Advocacy leadership teams to develop reports that communicate metrics and alignment with departmental and corporate goals as well as Acadia’s business objectives. This individual will be responsible for transitioning to a new Government Affairs and Patient Advocacy database to meet new privacy laws, including building a strategic plan and budget for establishing the new database and working across functional teams to ensure compliant implementation. Once the system/transition has been implemented, the role will ensure ongoing optimization of the database through active engagement.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure input of data to the new Government Affairs and Patient Advocacy database in a timely manner and is segmented by sub-team.
- Supports Government Affairs and Patient Advocacy leadership with quarterly business reviews with their extended teams.
- Identifies and cultivates relationships with cross functional partners, including legal, compliance, IT, business units and other partners as needed.
- Demonstrates attention to detail and accurate reporting.
- Executes the strategic plans for Government Affairs and Patient Advocacy staff and extended teams, including engaging with organizations, advocates, and providing feedback to Acadia.
- Monitors competitive activity and identifies industry trends.
- Maintains strict financial oversight of allocated budget and performs necessary contracting support to accomplish departmental objectives.
- Stays current with new developments and ideas in the field of database management and usage.
- Ensures department’s adherence to company policies and quality system requirements, as well as other legal and regulatory directives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, healthcare, science, communications or related degrees. Targeting 5 years of experience with corporate database systems. Neuroscience and Rare Disease experience strongly preferred. Previous budget management also desired. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- Understanding of Government Affairs and Patient Advocacy activities and engagement strategies.
- Proven skill at collaborating with cross functional partners and influencing project priorities in a matrix organization.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English in verbal, written and presentation form.
- Proven PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office System Skills
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Physical Requirements
This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedules or business needs.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.
