Job Summary

BASIC FUNCTION
This position is responsible for proactively preventing crime and misconduct as well as mitigating loss to HCSC; serving the intelligence and communications hub for emergencies throughout the HCSC Enterprise; monitoring activity at HCSC-Chicago in accordance with identified needs and/or established procedures, and dispatching applicable personnel or other emergency services as procedure or circumstances require. You will utilize various systems and software used to monitor intrusions, video surveillance, HVAC, and other critical assets across the HCSC Enterprise and work under the direction of the Supervisor-Protection & Security, and will be responsible for the execution of the processes of the Enterprise Control Room (ECR). You will also provide operational leadership in the ECR in the absence of the Supervisor in addition to travelling to other HCSC locations as requested by Protection & Security Management. Additional duties include reviewing log entries, incident reports, alarm reports, alarm responses, conducting camera audits, identifying, and reporting malfunctioning devices. The Coordinator will contribute to a culture that maintains a high degree or professionalism and demonstrates proficiency in security operations. Continual training and education are required.

NOTE: Hours are non-traditional and will be 5:00am until 1:00pm; however, incumbent must be on call 24-hours a day to support emergency response and business continuity efforts…..except during approved paid time off. Relocation is NOT available for this role, sponsorship will NOT be extended ~

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 2 years of experience in the operation and management of intrusion detection and video surveillance systems.
• Experience with oversight of department personnel.
• Clear and concise verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a leadership role from a project perspective with sound decision making skills.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• ASIS International Board Certification of Physical Security Professional (PSP) OR Certified Protection Professional (CPP).
• City of Chicago Fire Safety Director Certification.
• Educational certifications offered by video surveillance and intrusion detection vendors, if available.
