Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider Opportunity with BayCare Medical Group at St. Joseph's Hospital - Tampa, Florida

Position Overview

BayCare Medical Group, the leading physician-led medical group in the Tampa Bay area, is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our Neurosurgery team at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with a rapidly growing neurosurgery practice serving both pediatric and adult patients across the greater Tampa Bay region. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, adaptable, and compassionate with a desire to grow within a high-volume, high-acuity specialty.

 

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborating with the attending physician during daily inpatient rounding and assisting in the operating room.

• Evaluating and managing patients in an outpatient clinic setting, including pre-operative and post-operative care.

• Participating in a 1:6 call rotation, which includes answering patient calls via answering service after hours and some hospital calls.

• Functioning as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on delivering high-quality neurosurgical care.

• Supporting care coordination, continuity, and quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP).

• Clinical rotation in neurosurgery or RN experience in a neurosurgical setting is a plus.

• Surgical First Assist (FA-C) or Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) certification preferred.
• Board certification required by NCCPA for Physician Assistants, or AANP or ANCC for Nurse Practitioners.
• Ability to obtain a Florida license.
• Must obtain and maintain hospital medical staff privileges.
