Ford Motor CompanyAbout the role
We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?
Ford’s Research and Advanced Engineering team explores new vehicle and societal innovations that require some level of invention before they can be applied to our products and services. We deliver ways to make smarter vehicles and innovate using sustainable, environmentally, and socially responsible methods and materials. Since 2000, we have used twelve industry- and world-first plant-based materials in our production vehicles. We also are researching the possible use of tomato skin, bamboo, agave fiber, dandelion roots, algae, and coffee chaff as part of our ambitious goal of making our vehicles with up to 20 percent sustainable material by 2025.
What you’ll be able to do:
Develop system and subsystem level design, interfaces and specifications to support instrumentation and integration plans for future sensor/feature testing within fleet vehicles. Integrate and configure models and other software packages with a variety of production and other in-vehicle hardware to enable early feature-level in-vehicle verification. Design, install and use in-vehicle testing and data acquisition tools to assess feature performance. Support and coordinate root-cause analysis with internal and external suppliers to ensure accurate performance of ADAS features, instrumentation and data acquisition systems on fleet vehicles. Perform and document system-level feature prove-out of development vehicles to support feature testing and mileage accumulation activities.
