About the role
The Accountant / Senior Accountant will be a key member of the Finance & Accounting team and responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of the company's financial data. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and will leverage this knowledge to oversee a broad range of responsibilities, from managing accounts payable to generating financial reports. This role requires a mix of analytical acumen, attention to details, effective communication and adaptability to fast-paced work environment. This is an On-Site position, reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations.
Attovia is creating a pipeline of biotherapeutics with initial focus immune-mediated disease. The company leverages Attobody™, a novel biologics platform, to generate small format biparatopic binders that expand the addressable target universe across disease areas and can offer stronger efficacy, faster speed to response, and an improved safety profile than traditional approaches. We are currently progressing multiple programs across immune mediated disease indications.

Key Responsibilities - Accounting
- Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment to vendors and proper documentation.
- Maintain and update the fixed assets listing, ensuring accurate accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and depreciation. Work with Facilities Manager to ensure book to floor, and floor to book are well matched.
- Book monthly and periodic journal entries, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately captured in the company’s accounting system.
- Generate monthly financial statements and ad-hoc financial reports as required. Ensure all reports are timely, accurate, and presented in a manner that is comprehensible to stakeholders.
- Regularly reconcile all balance sheet accounts to ensure the integrity of the financial statements.
- Identify and recommend process improvements in the accounting and financial reporting areas to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Support financial planning and budgeting processes.
- Perform any other responsibilities consistent with the role as assigned by management.
Key Responsibilities - Procurement
- Set up, update, and delete vendor profiles in the company's accounting system, ensuring all vendor information is accurate and up to date.
- Create and process purchase requests, ensuring all expenditures are within budget and appropriately documented.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5 years of progress accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or other relevant professional certifications.
- Experience in Biotech industry.
- Big 4 audit or advisory experience.
- Familiarity with Quickbooks Online.
