Job Summary:

Raytheon is seeking a Sr. Quality & Mission Assurance Manager to implement and manage a System Assurance System and specific customer quality flow down requirements throughout the lifecycle for the Advance Products & Solutions (APS) family of programs.  The selected professional will create or tailor existing planning to administer customer and internal quality requirements to the APS program teams and supply base.

This position is a hybrid role.


Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Ensure inspectability, testability, and producibility are considered during the early development of the systems specification and flow down to lower-level requirements.
  • Engage and lead in technical reviews and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) focused on the technical requirements traceability.
  • Lead Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and review and resolve systemic Failure Review and Corrective Action (FRACA) items.
  • Provide an integrated perspective of the program’s technical risk that considers criticality, system safety, reliability, test and evaluation criteria and adverse trend (Raytheon and suppliers).
  • Review and approve the engineering program documentation, including specifications, requirements, specification control drawings, altered item drawings, assembly drawings, test plans, procedures, instructions, and standard operating processes prior to release for correctness to technical standards.
  • Assure the impact of advisories, such as supplier, Rapid Information Sharing and Alerts (RISA), Government Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) and customer advisories, are considered.
  • Have direct interface with program management, cross-functional program leadership, suppliers, customers, and government representatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and ten (10) years of engineering experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in Quality or Engineering in a development, production, test, and sustainment (Depot) in a high-reliability environment
  • Working experience with Quality Management Systems IS09001 and AS9100, Configuration and Data Management, and implementation of internal and contractual quality requirements
  • Working experience with First Article Inspections per AS9102
  • Working experience with Special Test Equipment development, procurement, and transition to production
  • Working knowledge of material review and disposition of nonconforming material
  • Prior experience in leading or a member of risk & opportunity management, assessment, mitigation, and capture
  • Working experience with quality data extraction and analysis
  • Working experience performing quality assurance functional activities in support of programmatic, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, test, and post-delivery support
  • Working experience with reliability and system safety requirements
  • Travel is required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Raytheon RCAS or a proven closed loop corrective action system
  • Experience with Raytheon Command Media System
  • Lean six sigma knowledge/experience
  • Project Management skills, such as Earned Value (EV), Estimate at Complete (EAC), and Basis of Estimate (BOE)
  • Working experience collaborating with program cross-functional team members to develop practical solutions to complex problems
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Knowledge of Transition to Production (T2P)
  • Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Strong written/verbal presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • The ability to lead, coach and mentor others in routine settings and difficult situations.
