About the role

General Description

Primarily support the Collections Manager in the efficient management of the Collections Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Prepare the Legal Packets for Demand Letters, Attorney Workout Plans and Collection Lawsuits.

2. Update the Attorney Tracking Spreadsheets.

3. Reconcile the Attorney Invoices and allocate the costs to the corresponding account.

4. After Charge-Off each month, place the designated accounts with third-party agencies.

5. Respond to requests for documentation and debt validation from third-party collectors.

6. Calculate and present performance of third-party collectors to management.

7. Filing Bankruptcy Proof of Claims.

8. Prepare and File Estate Claims on Deceased Accounts.

9. Compile the necessary data and prepare the Collections for the Monthly Operational Report.

10. Send notification of Intent to Debit to agent banks on Defaulted Guaranteed Accounts.

11. Prepare documentation to assign defaulted guaranteed accounts to Agent Banks.

12. Prepare responses for Credit Reporting Disputes and Subpoenas.

13. Reconcile Fixed Payment report on monthly basis.

14. Manage consumer credit counseling service requests on charged off accounts.

15. Manage payment plan on charged off accounts.

16. Contact Cardholders on Unprocessed or Damaged Checks.

17. Prepare and update weekly and monthly reporting for Collections.

19. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Understands and adheres to all compliance issues, attends training as required and related to this position, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Privacy Act, US Patriot Act, Security and Credit Card Lending. Must adhere to special shift hours as agreed or instructed by manager. Early evening work is required along with possible weekend assignments. Flexible schedules are available. Must have good problem-solving ability, organizational skills and strong analytical and research skills. Collection experience preferred, especially experience with Bankruptcies, Probate and the Legal Collection Process. Ability to initiate collection calls required.
