About the role

Description

The Inside Sales Specialist is the “pillar of support” for the Account Executive and Sales team with oversight to maintain accurate customer contracts, review and coordinate updates to customers and vendors. Strives for provide an outstanding sales experience for our customers.  

Main Purpose of the Role:

As the first line of communication, support Account Executive and Management efficiently and effectively in an effort towards achieving branch and company goals by emphasizing our main features, support the AO on the preparation of quotes and contracts, request credit terms; Support the AO on their preparation for customer meetings as needed

Major Areas of Responsibility:

Builds and maintains customers’ relationships through prompt service and troubleshooting assistance. Inputs new customer data, other sales data for current and new customers into CRM. Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from CRM sales leads system, market statistics, trade shows, direct email responses, card deck leads, Internet Web sites, and other sources, Makes outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e-mail (to qualify leads for Sales Account Executives).  

Main Tasks:

Support Account Executive and management by responding to customers’ requests regarding, rates, free time, service contracts and all other general requests.

Prepare reports for Branch Sales Director and Branch VP

Prepare information for 1:2 with Account Executive and Branch Sales Director

Communicate with Account Executive, Trade, Pricing, BU, Contract Management, Regulatory, Customer Service and all other cross-functional teams

Generate sales leads by mining data from Datamyne/PIERs or other public records

Face to face customer visits with Account Executive

Communicate closely with Account Executive, Branch Sales Director, Trade/BU and cross-functional teams on market intelligence, service updates, customer challenges and opportunities. Completes required activities and updates in CRM.


Requirements

• Four year college or university program certificate (preferred)

• Experience: 3 to 5 years sales experience in the ocean shipping or related industry.
