General Production Weekend

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a General Production Weekend to join our growing team.

 

SUMMARY OF GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION: 

Under direct supervision, the Entry Level General Laborer 1 position(s) performs custodial duties in offices, warehouses, manufacturing areas, other building interiors, and in some cases building exteriors, at all  JELD-WEN plants and facilities. The General Laborer may also perform some production activities and operate machinery associated with the JELD-WEN product line.  

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Uses appropriate cleaning equipment, and performs routine maintenance on all building interior and exteriors contingent upon plant and facility location. Will work with General Laborer II Mid-Level, and General Laborer III Top Level Positions to perform maintenance duties beyond the scope of routine maintenance, and operate machinery and equipment, perform production and assembly activities at the discretion of management. Works in a safe manner using appropriate safety equipment while performing maintenance and General Labor duties. Maintains the work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations per plant and facility policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of safety glasses, ear plugs, masks, steel toed boots/shoes, and associated safety equipment when using cleaning products and in order to be on the plant floor, and perform the job duties in a safe and efficient/effective manner. Reports unsafe conditions to appropriate supervision. Performs other duties as assigned by management.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

The physical demands described here are representative, but not all inclusive, of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to clean facilities, and lift and/or move office equipment and finished and unfinished stock, materials and parts in the plant or facility where the maintenance, labor and production is performed. Reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will be reviewed and considered on a case-by case basis.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be frequently exposed to fumes, cleaning solutions, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and machines, vibrations and loud noises. All safety protocols including OSHA guidelines as mentioned above are mandatory.
