We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team investigating the neural mechanisms of chemosensation. In this role, you will utilize a multidisciplinary approach that integrates neuroscience, molecular biology, and biophysics to understand how taste stimuli are detected, processed, and ultimately influence behaviour.

Your key responsibilities
- Primarily responsible for tissue culture, such as routine maintenance and passage of cells lines, transfection and baculovirus infections
- Independently design, optimized and execute molecular biology assays
- Provide support in the design and execution of fluorescence-based assays and high-throughput screening
- Provide support in the design and execution of electrophysiological assays
- Provide general support to the biology team by maintaining general upkeep of the laboratory
- Documentation of experiments and generation of reports in conjunction with other research staff

You bring
- B.S. degree in biology, molecular biology or a related field
- 1 to 2 years of demonstrated hands-on experience of molecular biology and tissue culture techniques preferably in an industry Research and Development laboratory
- Experience working with ion channels and GPCRs a plus
- Experience running cell-based and high-throughput assays a plus
- Willing to develop new skills and learn new techniques
- Excellent team spirit, communication skills and networking capacity in a multidisciplinary environment.
