Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking an experienced technical leader/engineering manager to manage our enterprise-wide logging infrastructure and services. As Autodesk's Logging Services Engineering Manager for Enterprise Observability, you will lead the delivery, and ongoing management of log aggregation, processing, analysis, and visualization to enable improved reliability across Autodesk products and enterprise services. We are looking for an expertise in managing large-scale Splunk and observability environments, driving implementation, best practices. Experienced in monitoring, Splunk, AWS, Linux, troubleshooting, and automation. Established leader in designing and operating reliable infrastructure and observability platforms.

You will report to a Director Observability.

This role is located in Novi, Michigan

Responsibilities

  • Lead a globally distributed team of logging engineers supporting mission-critical workloads

  • Establish and govern Autodesk observability standards, guidelines, frameworks and processes

  • Manage Splunk at scale - Administration, Development, Enterprise Security

  • Lead observability strategy and roadmaps focused on service reliability

  • Strong communication, presentation and storytelling skills before senior leadership

  • Implement observability best practices for metrics, logs and traces

  • Passion for mentoring and developing engineering teams

  • Handle complex cross-functional program management initiatives

  • Identify and remediate systemic reliability issues

  • Architect scalable logging and observability data pipelines

  • Ensure compliance, security, and data quality standards

  • Maximize the value of logging data through advanced analytics and machine learning with data science teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years in platform engineering or site reliability engineering leadership roles

  • Experience recruiting and managing global engineering teams

  • Expert-level knowledge with logging, APM and observability tooling at scale

  • Hands-on experience administering Splunk enterprise and cloud deployments

  • Leadership style demonstrating sound technical decision-making

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $145,800 and $235,950. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
