Position Summary:
We are looking for a Research Associate to join the In Vivo Rewriting Candidate Development team to advance translational research with Tessera’s novel Gene Writing and Gene Rewriting technology for in vivo gene therapy applications. The Research Associate will work closely with scientists to translate novel gene writing technologies to develop innovative therapeutics. We are searching for a driven, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual who is comfortable multi-tasking and working independently on various aspects of the platform. This individual will join a dynamic, rapidly growing, and highly collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain human iPSC clones and differentiate human iPSC to hepatocytes according to established protocols
- Provide laboratory support to maintain available stocks of critical cell culture reagents
- Independently contributes to scientific experiments, such as flow cytometry, ELISAs, PCR, or other molecular biology and immunology techniques
- Coordinate with other scientists and research associates to deliver cell samples for downstream applications within defined timelines.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS/MS degree in biological sciences with 1+ years of laboratory experience
- Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture is required
- Previous experience with flow cytometry, western blot, and/or PCR-based assays
- Highly organized with significant attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with human iPSC culture and in-vitro differentiation
- Experience in non-viral or viral gene delivery methods, including electroporation, nucleofection and viral transduction
- Experience in developing and executing assays to characterize hepatocyte function
