Job Summary

Manage (and accountable for) implementation of life, annuity, medical supplement, or other lines of business, from concept approval through delivery. Responsibilities encompass preparation of high-level project plans, milestones and target dates. Collaborate with several business and systems areas to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within specifications.  Effectively communicate with all levels within the organization and inspire and motivate project teams.  

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Bring products to market by managing all aspects of the project life cycle from detailed plan development/maintenance, resource management, scope definition and management, change control, through testing and implementation. This includes following the formal product delivery process with key controls for deliverables and sign offs. 
  • Manage cross-functional activities and coordinate with other projects/areas.
  • Prepare and manage high level project plans, milestones, target dates to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects within financial budgets established.
  • Provide regular updates to business sponsors and stakeholders as to the status of work in progress.
  • Monitor and ensure that any deliverables/deployments outstanding at the time of initial product launch are completed, including state approvals/variations, valuation systems, marketing roll out plans, etc.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with business and technology partners (internal and external).
  • Monitor, engage, hold accountable our third party administrators (TPA) involved in the support of our product initiatives
    • Create and/or coordinate documentation that Nassau provides to TPA
    • Review and coordinate Nassau responses to documentation provided by TPA
    • Collaborate with TPA on project deliverables, plans, strategies, timetables, costs, etc
    • Create budgets and review/analyze invoices associated with projects
  • Engage in solving difficult problems with creative, cost effective solutions
  • Facilitate effective brainstorming sessions
  • Manage project resources within a matrix team structure
  • Support Product Development during idea generation and assessment of new product endeavors. Identify critical success factors, legal constraints, and operational and servicing concerns. Determine resource and capability requirements on an enterprise level. Perform outsourcing evaluations as required.
  • Support Product Development with suggesting ways to improve the process of developing and delivering a product/initiative to market. Assist with scoping out length and difficulty of tasks. 
  • Maintain appropriate attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • College degree or equivalent work experience. 
  • 8-10+ years professional experience within a financial industry
