The International/Transfer Pricing Manager will report to the Head of Tax and be one of the leaders on the Tax team. This position is a true ‘Head of International Income Tax’, leading international tax compliance, planning, and transfer pricing. 

AT SONDER YOU WILL:

• Responsible for ensuring proper compliance with non-U.S. income tax in multiple jurisdictions including Canada, Mexico, EMEA, and the UAE.
• Support income tax audits in foreign jurisdictions and the US.
• Be a Transfer Pricing expert for Sonder and work as part of a team to propose, establish and implement policies and processes to ensure that Sonder meets its documentation and filing obligations worldwide.
• Manage outside consultants for compliance and transfer pricing. 
• Responsible for ensuring proper compliance with the various requirements of U.S. International Reporting (Form 5471, 8858, 8865, 8990, 8991, 8992, 8993,1118 etc.).
• Monitor and provide analysis of legislative and regulatory developments.
• Partner with Sonder’s Expansion team to provide timely tax guidance and modeling. 
• Identify how Sonder can leverage technology and develop tools to grow in a scalable manner. 

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

• Strong tax technical knowledge in the areas of international tax, M&A, and transfer pricing.
• 5+ years of international tax/transfer pricing experience, preferably with experience in-house with multinational technology, hospitality or real estate corporation, or the equivalent experience in an accounting and/or law firm.
• JD, CPA or equivalent designation
• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant areas
• Strong drafting and analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently as well as on teams with diverse personalities and skill levels
• A creative problem solver who is open to new ideas and new approaches
• Proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, working proactively and being resourceful
• Evidence of exceptional ability
