CDL Driver-Yard Switcher (Local)

Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Transport between Drop Trailer Yard and Loading Dock

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Must understand operation of truck; perform daily inspection and report safety / maintenance issues.
2. Supply material to designated destination based on production schedule.
3. Pro-actively assist in quick response delivery time for shipment behind production schedule.
4. Coordinate with warehouse teams to meet shipping requirements.
5. Properly store tools and supplies at the end of each shift.
6. Maintains neat and orderly truck cab and trailer.
7. Wears required safety glasses and footwear; works safely and reports unsafe conditions to Dept. Supervisor.
8. Performs other duties as required by supervisor.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintain good housekeeping on machines, floors, trash cans and waste according to GMP protocols.

· Perform any other assigned duties or tasks requested by management.

Requirements

01. Valid CDL class A driver's license with current medical card.

02. Clean driving record with no DWI/DUI convictions.

03. 2 years verifiable experience

04. Be able to pass both pre-employment and random drug/alcohol tests.

05. Be a hard-working, motivated individual looking for a rewarding career in the trucking industry.

06. Have a positive attitude, understanding that you are representing our company as well as the trucking industry.

PHYSICALS DEMANDS:

01. Occasional lifting up to 55 lb. from floor to waist high.

02. Occasional bending and stooping.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Lighting is good and temperatures will be hot in summer and cold in the winter. Earplugs, eye protection, steel toed shoes and hair nets are required in the production area. Gloves, face-shield and other various types of protective equipment must be worn when working around machinery.
