So put yourself at the heart of a dynamic, fast-paced working environment where expertise and focus take people far.</p> <p><strong>About the role </strong></p> <p>We are looking for a Trainee Health and Safety Business Partner working across a patch covering across Southwest England and South Wales to support a robust and sustainable health and safety culture across Halfords Garages, Halfords Retail and Halfords Mobile Experts. This is an exciting role for someone who is passionate about progressing their career within a hard working and passionate H&amp;S team. We will support this person completing your NEBOSH and future development within Health and Safety.</p> <p><strong>Key responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>To undertake audits and workplace/area inspections to proactively identify where health &amp; safety management practices and overall standards can be improved.</li> <li>Provide written reports by the way of inspection, visible safety leadership (VSL), and monthly summaries where necessary to assist Halfords in implementing solutions to improve its overall health &amp; safety performance.</li> <li>To undertake investigations for all accidents, incidents, significant events, and safety concerns as required to identify both root cause and preventative measures to prevent reoccurrence.</li> <li>Provide both competent and expert advice on all health &amp; safety matters that arise when called upon.</li> <li>Prioritise and respond to safety concerns identified from colleagues, contractors, and visitors who enter any Halfords Group operation.</li> <li>Liaise with enforcement agencies in conjunction with both the Senior Health &amp; Safety Business Partner and Group Head of Health &amp; Safety.</li> <li>To contribute to the design, development, production, and delivery of training materials including (but not limited to) risk assessments, safe working procedures, manual handling, traffic management, wellbeing &amp; welfare, vehicle operations, housekeeping standards, PUWER, LOLER etc… ensuring that appropriate records are kept, and quality of content meets the specific requirements of the Group.</li> <li>Assist the Group Head of Health &amp; Safety and Senior Health &amp; Safety Business Partner in maintaining effective working relationships with Halfords Directors, Managers, Colleagues, Trade Unions, Partners, Contractors, and all other relevant stakeholders.</li> <li>Identify, promote, and raise awareness of ‘Good Practice’ throughout the Halfords Group.</li> <li>To liaise and support the Halfords Group on all matters concerned or connected with Employee and Public Liability whilst always maintaining the strictest confidentiality.</li> <li>Assist management and departmental heads with site improvement plans to aid continuous improvement in all matters related to health &amp; safety.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About you </strong></p> <ul> <li>Passion to develop within the Health and Safety team </li> <li>Driven and hard working individual with a willingness to learn</li> <li>NEBOSH General Certificate or ambition to complete NBOSH qualification with Halfords support</li> <li>Proven record of promoting a positive health &amp; safety performance culture</li> <li>Ability to influence, persuade and negotiate with both internal &amp; external stakeholders </li> <li>Good understanding of Health and Safety </li> <li>Flexible and able to work independently- with regular travel </li> <li>Strong organisational &amp; planning skills and good attention to detail</li> <li>Good written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Good navigation for the use of Microsoft Office applications such as word, excel, power-point, and outlook.</li> <li>Full UK driving licence</li> </ul> <p><strong>Reward &amp; benefits </strong></p> <ul> <li>A fair and competitive salary evaluated against market data, annual discretionary bonus scheme, Company car, pension, life assurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and enhanced family leave.</li> <li>Commitment and dedication to your ongoing personal
