The State Reclamation and Mosquito Control Board oversees mosquito control in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts including 11 regional programs. It establishes administrative and technical policies, guidelines, and best management practices to ensure mosquito control programs are safe and effective.
Job Opening:
The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources seeks applicants for a Seasonal Field Technician (Contract Season Employees) to perform the following duties:
Title: Seasonal Field Technician
Report To: Entomologist/Assistant Superintendent
Time Period: June 1, 2025 - August 30, 2025
Description: Assist with mosquito and greenhead fly trapping programs.
Essential Duties:
- Set out and retrieve mosquito traps for arbovirus surveillance and efficacy studies.
- Assist entomologist in duties as needed.
- Identify different species of mosquitoes after minimal training.
- Assist in other ongoing research projects.
- Assist with greenhead fly trapping program.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
