Temporary Beer Servers will support concessions operations at Rice Eccles Stadium and Jon M Huntsman Center during concerts and special events. This position is responsible for providing high-quality service to guests in a fast-paced environment while adhering to all applicable local laws and university policies regarding alcohol sales and service.
Responsibilities
- Serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with state laws, university policies, and venue regulations.
- Verify customer age and identification in accordance with state alcohol laws.
- Process payments efficiently using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain a clean and organized service area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Adhere to responsible alcohol service guidelines, recognizing signs of overconsumption and refusing service when necessary.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service, ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Work efficiently in a high-volume setting, handling large crowds and long lines.
- Assist with setup, stocking, and closing duties as needed.
- Comply with all workplace safety policies and stadium event protocols.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid alcohol server certification/license (as required by state law).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as scheduled per event needs.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food & beverage service, bartending, or stadium/event concessions preferred.
- Experience working in a stadium, arena, or large event venue.
- Knowledge of state liquor laws and responsible alcohol service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash-handling procedures.
