Healthcare Accountant (Great Plains Experience Needed)

Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting:Utilize Great Plains software to prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial information to management and stakeholders.Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), healthcare industry regulations, and internal policies and procedures.Budgeting and Forecasting:Assist in the development of annual operating budgets and financial forecasts for various departments and service lines within the organization using Great Plains software.Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and prepare reports to identify areas for cost savings and operational improvements.Revenue Cycle Management:Oversee revenue cycle processes, including billing, collections, and accounts receivable management, using Great Plains software to optimize revenue capture and cash flow.Work closely with billing and coding teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims and resolution of billing issues.Cost Accounting:Perform cost accounting activities using Great Plains software, including analyzing costs by department or service line, tracking expenses, and allocating costs to appropriate cost centers.Assist in the development of cost accounting methodologies and models within the Great Plains system to support decision-making and financial planning.Audit and Compliance:Coordinate external audits and internal control reviews, providing support and documentation as needed within the Great Plains system to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and audit standards.Implement and maintain effective internal controls and procedures within Great Plains to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.2+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with specific experience in healthcare accounting preferred.Proficiency in Great Plains accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Strong knowledge of GAAP, healthcare industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Stark Law), and reimbursement methodologies (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid).Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends and patterns.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
