Anticipated Hiring Pay: $26.00 hourlyFull Pay Range: $26.00 - $41.75 hourly
Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.
** Please note that the hourly rate listed ($26.00 - $41.75) is for candidates who are Registered Sanitarians. The hourly rate for non-registered candidates is $23.24.

As an Environmental Health Specialist, you will conduct compliance reviews and field inspections safeguarding public health sanitation codes.
Here are some of the specialized areas you could be assigned: retail food establishments, aquatic health & safety, onsite wastewater, stormwater management, waste transport, and drinking water quality.

We Require
Bachelor's degree in environmental health, microbiology, entomology, chemistry, food science, or related field with at least 30 semester hours of credit from an accredited college or university in subjects relevant to the role of sanitarian, including 22 semester hours in the natural sciences
A complete list of all natural science coursework as requested on the application
AND
Licensed as a Registered Sanitarian by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), OR by an equivalent licensing authority of another state, with the ability to obtain Arizona Registration within six months of employment. (Employees will receive a provisional salary set below the minimum rate for the position until the required certification is obtained.)
