Unlimited Technology (UT) is looking for an on-site System Administrator supporting an enterprise Physical Security Access Control, Video (CCTV), Audio-Visual, and IT/Network Infrastructure systems. The position requires a three day a week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday) onsite resource located in the Santa Clara area. You will be the main point of contact for the client when it comes to the IT/Network/AV/Physical Security systems.

The selected candidate will:

  • Provide technical support for system platform with associated components and environments. To include Installing/rebuilding servers and workstations; configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage in accordance with standards and projection/operational requirements.
  • Provide hands-on support with Windows enterprise server administration (2016/2019/2022), as well as Windows 10/11, including patching/updates of systems and System builds.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, switches, hotspots, network infrastructure and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Investigating, troubleshooting, and fixing hardware and software availability and performance issues.
  • Support operation of software applications and databases.
  • Administer user account properties, single sign-on, and network security configurations.
  • Provide white-glove customer support to on-site personnel with any network/technical issues, such as issues connecting to Wi-Fi, configuring and using AV equipment in the conference center, badging issues at card readers, etc.
  • Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures for both customers and in-house staff.

Requirements

  • 5 plus years of experience providing technical support to software applications
  • Proven experience with Windows Administration, to include but not limited working knowledge of:
      • Windows Server Operating Systems
      • Active Directory administration
      • Group Policy administration
      • DNS administration
  • Proven experience with Network Administration, to include but not limited working knowledge of:
      • Cisco Meraki L2 and L3 switches
      • Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi hotspots
  • Have experience working with Lenel and Milestone ACS and VMS systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in new technologies, strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills, particularly in technical areas, and effective written and oral communication skills
  • A degree in a computer-related field is not required, although relevant coursework and/or experience is preferred
  • Aptitude for and willingness to learn new technologies are considered essential skills for this position, which requires a significant amount of self-paced, self-directed study
  • Ability to partner with vendors and manufacturers for troubleshooting current and future issues/problems, etc.
