The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. 

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Director of Global Events & Executive Engagement to lead our enterprise-wide events strategy and execution across the globe. This role will define and deliver breakthrough event experiences that deepen relationships with our most valuable customers, elevate our brand, and drive measurable business impact.

Reporting into senior marketing leadership, this role will lead a global team and oversee a diverse portfolio of owned events, from intimate, high-end executive experiences to large-scale conferences with thousands of attendees, as well as our presence at major industry events. This leader will also own all executive engagement programs, ensuring our senior executives consistently build meaningful, high-impact relationships with top customers.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strategic vision, creative excellence, operational rigor, and the ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across a complex, global organization.

Responsibilities

Global Events Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and lead a global, multi-year events strategy aligned with LinkedIn priorities, brand positioning, and business outcomes
     

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a distributed global team, setting a high bar for creativity, hospitality, and executional excellence
     

  • Establish scalable governance, processes, and standards that enable regional flexibility while ensuring consistency and quality
     

Creative Vision & Breakthrough Experiences

  • Develop innovative, differentiated event concepts that cut through the noise and set a new standard for customer engagement
     

  • Elevate events beyond logistics to become immersive, content-rich experiences that tell a compelling company story
     

  • Ensure exceptional hospitality across all events, with thoughtful, high-touch details 

Owned Events (Executive to Large-Scale)

  • Oversee end-to-end planning and execution for:
     

    • Exclusive, high-end events for senior customers and executives
       

    • Regional customer and partner events
       

    • Large flagship conferences with thousands of attendees
       

  • Ensure experiences are tailored to audience needs while maintaining brand and quality consistency globally
     

Industry Events & Enterprise Presence

  • Own strategy and execution for the company’s participation in industry conferences and third-party events
     

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Product to maximize impact from sponsorships, speaking opportunities, executive meetings, and experiential activations
     

  • Ensure cohesive integration with broader enterprise marketing and go-to-market initiatives
     

Executive Engagement Programs

  • Design and lead executive engagement programs that enable meaningful, authentic connections between senior executives and top customers
     

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the executive team, shaping agendas, experiences, and customer interactions
     

  • Ensure executive time at events is intentional, well-orchestrated, and tied to clear relationship and business outcomes
     

Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Build strong, trusted partnerships with senior leaders across Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product, Communications, and Finance
     

  • Navigate complex enterprise dynamics, balancing competing priorities while maintaining momentum and alignment
