Valley Jr. High School - CTE � Digital Literacy/Word Processing/FACS� (1.0 FTE)  External Applicants only 

This position is for a Business Education/Family Consumer Science teacher at Valley Jr. High School for the 2026-27 school year.  The teacher may be responsible for teaching: 

• Digital Literacy
• Word Processing
• FACS Exploration

Required Certification 
 
Requires one of the following: 

• a valid Professional Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with one of the following endorsements: College/Career Awareness & Digital Literacy, Business & Marketing Comprehensive (General), Business & Marketing L2 Info Management, Business & Marketing Middle OR a Family Consumer Sciences Comprehensive or a Family Consumer Science Middle of High School Endorsement;
• a valid Associate Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with one of the following endorsements: College/Career Awareness & Digital Literacy, Business & Marketing Comprehensive (General), Business & Marketing L2 Info Management, Business & Marketing Middle OR a Family Consumer Sciences Comprehensive or a Family Consumer Science Middle of High School Endorsement;
• a current out-of-state license with a business/marketing OR Family Consumer Science related endorsement.
• new teacher education program graduates, who do not have their official teaching license yet, should upload a conferral letter from their university education program in lieu of their license, verifying date of graduation, and in which content area(s).  Candidate must have officially graduated before hire.  A copy of the candidates official teaching license and degree will be required upon hire.

Note: Individuals with only one of the required endorsements (Business or Family Consumer Science) must be willing to obtain a second endorsement within three (3) years of hire.

• If approved for an Associate License, please upload your AEL eligibility letter in lieu of a full teaching license

Required Knowledge and Skills 

• Must be able to pass all safety requirements including being able to demonstrate correct use of equipment.
• Ability to maintain an orderly teaching lab
• Knowledge and experience using computers and software.
• Ability to use and implement approved curriculum maps.
• Ability to evaluate student academic progress through various formal and informal assessments.
• Ability to communicate student academic progress to parents through various formats.
• Ability and willingness to use technology to enhance student engagement.
• Ability and willingness to collaborate and work with other professionals in Professional Learning Communities.
• Ability and willingness to implement proficiency-based grading.
• Ability to build a positive working relationship with students, school staff, administration business partners, parents and the community.
