Contract Electrical Equipment Specialist

Burrow Global is looking to hire a knowledgeable Electrical Equipment Specialist to work on a process safety project that will last 6 months. This position will evaluate the electrical equipment located in the PSM covered portion of the client’s facility. The person should be well versed in the electrical engineering discipline with previous experience in a petrochemical or refinery environment.
The project will cover all identified equipment in the facility. Approximately 900 pieces of electrical equipment.
Requirements:
- Industry experience in discipline – Minimum 5 yrs
- Basic understanding of PSM requirements and PSI
- Ability to read P&IDs and plot plans.
- Active TWIC Card
Primary Duties:
- Review existing equipment files (electronic and paper) to identify PSI in compliance with the organization’s requirements
- Complete field verification of equipment as required
- Reach out to OEMs and other outside resources to obtain missing PSI
- Compile various sources of information to create specification sheets in accordance with TPC requirements
- Review CMMS and other records for historical maintenance records.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience in plant equipment and power systems.
Strong understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements and Process Safety Information (PSI).
Proficient in reading Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and plot plans.
Technical drawing knowledge, including but not limited to:
Experience with Motor Data Sheets
Experience with electrical one-line diagrams
Experience reading and reviewing Equipment drawings
Previous experience in a petrochemical or refinery environment with demonstrating familiarity with operational equipment and safety standards.
