Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday 8a-5p

Salary: $15.85 - $17.44
About the Role
As a Medical Assistant, you’ll provide direct patient care and support clinicians in a variety of essential tasks. From administering medications to preparing exam rooms, your role is key to ensuring a smooth, safe, and welcoming experience for every patient.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
2+ years of related experience in a medical office, hospital, nursing home, or home health setting
Must obtain Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification or registration prior to start date; must maintain as condition of employment
Eligible for certification or registration through ARMA, AAMA, or NHA
Ability to obtain BLS certification within 6 months of hire
Strong multitasking, teamwork, and confidentiality skills
Basic EMR documentation skills
A well-qualified candidate will have experience in a college healthcare setting and have completed a Medical Assistant training program.
What You’ll Do
Patient Care:
Provides patient care activities daily
Transfers patients from reception area to exam rooms, measures vital signs, obtains height and weight, interviews patients for medical history, and updates health information in the electronic health record (EHR)
Administers medications and injections as directed by a physician or advanced practice provider
Performs basic procedures, including taking electrocardiograms, vision and hearing screening, ear lavage, spirometry and peak flows, nebulizer treatments, throat/nasal swabs, and fitting ortho slings, splints, and braces
Prepares patients for tests, exams, and procedures and explains basic treatment procedures to patients
Assists and/or chaperones providers during exams or procedures
Documents patient care activities in the electronic health record (EHR)
Medical Office:
Greets patients and provides assistance and direction
Answers the telephone and responds to routine inquiries from patients and staff or transfers calls to appropriate unit
Obtains electronic signatures for consent to treat
Assists with inventory and office equipment maintenance for assigned area/clinic.
Stocks patient care areas as needed
Safety and Compliance:
Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes exam rooms and medical instruments in accordance with policies and procedures for infection control
Assists in the organization and upkeep of assigned area to ensure a clean and safe working environment
Completes continuing education as required by certifying board and Student Health Services
Administrative:
May assist in training student worker nursing assistants
Participates on committees as assigned
