Job Title: Product Engineer

Location: Latrobe, PA

 

Job Summary and Mission:

Kennametal, Inc. seeks an Engineer - Product Engineering to work in Latrobe, PA, and, as a member of the Global Solutions Engineering Group. This position will be responsible for developing tooling concepts for custom engineered solutions tooling including but not limited to metal cutting inserts for turning and milling products. This person will review technical. and functional requirements for customer’s products. This person will work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a team environment with a diverse group of Sales Teams, Application Engineers, Customers, Material Sciences and Manufacturing.

 

Experience:

 

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred.
• At least two (2) years of experience in a related position is preferred.
• practical experience interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• knowledge of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• advanced mathematics and understanding of close tolerance manufacturing processes such as pressing, sintering, grinding, milling, turning, etc.
• Experience with 3D modeling and/or CAD/CAM software is also desired.
• Knowledge of machining processes and carbide cutting tools a plus.
