About the role

Reports To: Plant Operations Director

FLSA: Full-time, non-exempt, salary $28.00 - $32.00 per hour.

Essential Functions

  • Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from Director/Supervisor as outlined in the maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Perform maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, and sweeping, routine floor finishing etc., as necessary/directed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include, plumbing, plastering, electrical carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, and in accordance with established procedure.
  • Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance service.
  • Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., and assists housekeeping in performing cleaning in very high places.
  • Service heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift/area.
  • Ensure that the facility and its equipment is properly maintained for patient and resident comfort and convenience and Safety
  • Follow established policies and procedures concerning infection control and standard precautions when performing maintenance services in isolation rooms/areas.
  • Assure that the work/assignment areas are safe and clean and equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks, lunch or end of work day, etc.
  • Provides recommendations for resources to Supervisor and/or Plant Operations Director.
  • Assists in reviewing contracts.
  • Provide technical direction and support to Tier I, II, and III Maintenance Technicians.
  • Coordinate daily work assignments, preventative maintenance schedules, and emergency response.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on critical hospital systems, such as emergency generators, closed loop heating system, boilers etc.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and hospital policies.
  • Lead or participate in internal and external inspections.
  • Maintain and audit records for accuracy and regulatory readiness.
  • Interface with vendors and contractors for service coordination, quality assurance, and system upgrades.
  • Collaborate with facility leadership on capital projects, energy management, and departmental strategy.
  • Attends and participates in mandatory in-services, and educational classes, on the job training programs, and workshops as they become available or are scheduled by the manager.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Educate, teach, and/or mentor others as needed.
  • Take charge of department tasks when Supervisor is unavailable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

-     At least 18 years of age.

-     High School Diploma or equivalent required.

-     In depth knowledge in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC is desired. -      Minimum of three years of previous maintenance experience with one year in   Healthcare leadership recommended.
