About You
As the Sr. BI Analyst, you will lead the Data Programs within the Business Services Division at TASB. This position provides critical business data design and analysis for strategic decision making, including the design and building of robust data lakes, databases and reporting structures to support critical business analysis and growth while improving the business performance and creating solutions. Business Services leads multiple product and service lines across a wide customer base. This position serves as a key resource for senior business leadership, is integral to enterprise-wide data structures, and fundamental to the success of many other areas of the Association. Business Services is one of the most outward facing areas of the organization. This is an Austin-based hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to reside within the Austin area.
A Typical Day
Data Architecture Design and Development:
- Lead the design and development of scalable and high-performance reporting architectures.
- Developing and maintaining BuyBoard’s PowerBi reporting structures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Implement architecture patterns that support flexibility, maintainability, and security.
Database Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain databases to support the organization's data needs and future goals.
- Optimize database reporting to ensure data integrity and security.
- Develop data models and schemas based on business requirements and long-range plans.
- Implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.
Business Analysis:
- Conduct thorough analysis of business processes, systems, and workflows.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains through technology solutions.
- Work closely with business area stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical reporting specifications.
- Analyze data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide reporting to leadership and mentorship to business area staff.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in architecture, databases, and business analysis.
- Drive innovation and process improvements within the team and the organization.
Skills For Success
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in business operations.
- 2-3 years of experience BI Data Analyst.
- Proven experience in data architecture design and development.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to analyze data and draw business-relevant conclusions.
