Salary: The budgeted salary range for the position is $180,000 to $320,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.

Position Summary
The Department of Pathology at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a full-time academic dermatopathologist to join our faculty serving as an expert consultant. Rank and tenure will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and funding.
The Department of Pathology is among the country’s

Illinois College of Medicine and Cook County Health, one of the largest public

medical education, clinical care, and research.
This position will provide advanced
dermatopathology expertise and collaboration with clinicians and basic science
investigators. In addition, opportunities exist to participate in other
sub-specialty pathology diagnostic services at the University of Illinois at
Chicago, depending on qualifications and interest.
Duties and
Responsibilities
Clinical Service Responsibilities
Provide expert dermatopathology diagnostic services, including interpretation of skin biopsies, excisions, and complex consultations cases.
Clinical effort may be adjusted in consultation with leadership if additional time is needed for research or academic priorities.
Serve as a consultant for challenging dermatopathology cases, including inflammatory dermatoses, cutaneous neoplasms, and adnexal disorders.
Ensure accurate and timely case sign-out in compliance with CAP/CLIA standards.
Education and teaching responsibilities.
Lead didactic and case-based education for medical students, residents, and fellows in dermatopathology.
Participate in tumor boards, unknown conferences, and journal clubs.
Contribute to CME programs for pathologists, dermatologists, and trainees.
Assist in the selection and assessment of pathology trainees rotating through dermatopathology.
Scholarly and clinical investigation responsibilities.
Maintain an active program of translational and/or clinical research in dermatopathology, with a focus on advancing diagnostic, prognostic, or therapeutic understanding of skin diseases.
Collaborate with departmental and inter-departmental research teams within the medical center, including dermatology, oncology, and immunology.
Pursue external funding opportunities to support research initiatives in cutaneous pathology.
Supervise and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and postdoctoral researchers in scholarly projects related to derma
