JOB SUMMARY: Interacts with customers, rings transactions on cash registers, accepts payment from customers, maintains security of cash drawer, and reconciles cash and bank deposit.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED preferred. Customer service experience preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: N/A
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Greets customers, tactfully and pleasantly serves customers.
- Follows all cash handling policies and procedures. Maintains compliance with cash variance policy.
- Operates electronic cash registers accurately and efficiently.
- May be responsible for inventory control. This includes processing new items and stocking products.
- Maintains orderly appearance of register area and stocked supplies.
- May assist with pricing as needed.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to learn and comply with cash register system and procedures
Ability to communicate with a wide variety of customers
Ability to follow instructions, oral and written
Must have basic math skills
Ability to multi-task and pay attention detail
